Our school was founded with the goal of creating an ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse community that is united both through its commitment to parental involvement in education, as well as fostering a respect for the environment.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) currently offers morning classes five days a week for children two to four years in the Metro Atlanta area. Our diverse student body has close ties with many intown Atlanta neighborhoods, such as Candler Park, Lake Claire, Druid Hills, Inman Park, East Lake, Kirkwood, as well as Decatur Georgia, including the neighborhoods of Oakhurst and Winnona Park.

The Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) is a non-profit, parent cooperative overseen by a board of parent volunteers. A cooperative preschool such as OCP is a private entity operated by its members - the parents of the students - and staffed by professional teachers. Co-ops recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children. Parents are actively involved in virtually every aspect of the school, sharing their talents and interests in the classroom, on the Board of Directors, and various committees. Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool's program creates a special community that gives parents and children the opportunity to learn, communicate, play and grow together.
