2012 Beat the Street for Little Feet 

Our annual "Beat the Street for Little Feet" race will be held on Saturday, April 14 at Coan Park. To run this race, please register by April 12th.  If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact us at 5k@oakhurstcoop.com.

OCP Summer Camp 2012

OCP will offer a six-week summer camp in 2012; the weeks of camp will be:

  • June 11-15 
  • June 18-22 
  • July 9-13 
  • July 16-20 
  • July 30-August 3 
  • August 6-10

Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) accepts children two to four years old.

Children are grouped in classes by age as of September 1. This is the deadline used by the Georgia public school system, as well as most area private schools.

School hours are 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. At OCP, children are offered a regular but flexible schedule for classroom and outdoor time and learn to adapt to daily routines. Activities may include circle time, reading and storytelling, movement, art, singing and dancing, baking, making and playing with natural materials, free indoor and outdoor play, cooperative games, and make-believe play. These routines provide the children with a safe framework in which to bond with their teachers and classmates as they explore and develop their independence.

The Chickadees
The Chickadees class at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool is for children between 24 and 29 months of age as of September 1. The student-teacher ratio is 6-to-1, with one parent-teacher. There are six children in each class.

The Wrens
 The Wrens class at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool is for children between 30 and 35 months old as of September 1. The student-teacher ratio is 7-to-1, with one parent-teacher. There are seven children in each class.

The Sparrows
The Sparrows class at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) is for children who are at least three years old as of September 1. The student-teacher ratio is 8-to-1, with one parent-teacher. There are eight children in each class.

The Owls
 The Owls class at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) is for children who are at least three years old as of September 1. The student-teacher ratio is 8-to-1, with one parent-teacher. There are eight children in each class.

The Larks
 The Larks class at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool (OCP) is for children who are at least four years old as of September 1. The student-teacher ratio is 14-to-1, with one teaching assistant or parent-teacher.
